The founder of The Den Companion Co.
I’m a 23-year-old Sussex County local. I graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 2020, then earned my associate’s degree in General Business from Delaware Technical Community College in 2022.
I grew up in Rehoboth and worked in my family’s local business before recently moving into the medical office field — both of which gave me a strong connection to our community and the people in it. Being in a family business taught me the values of hard work, reliability, and genuine connection.
When I’m not working, I’m happiest spending time at home just outside of Milton with my high school sweetheart, on his family’s farm. I enjoy the peace and quiet of rural life and being close to family. I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities this life has offered me and the values that guide me every step of the way.
My reason
The idea for The Den Companion Co. came to me after my nephew was recently seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. During his hospital stay, I traveled upstate every day for nearly two weeks to be by his side—not just to visit, but to help ask the right questions, communicate with his doctors, and make sure he was being looked after properly. I communicated with our family, managed medical and insurance details, and took on anything I could to help.
I quickly realized how vital it is to have someone in your corner who’s paying attention, speaking up for you, and offering steady support. Especially this past year, working in the medical field, I’ve seen firsthand how many people don’t have that kind of help—and how much of a difference it can make, both in a crisis and in everyday life.
Through this time of constant responsibility, coordination, and advocacy, I realized I wasn’t just managing— I was thriving. I felt calm, clear, and almost at peace. I’ve always loved caring for others, but this experience made it clear—this is what I’m meant to be doing—Helping make other people’s Lives easier. It’s a value passed down from my Dad — a man who has always done anything and everything he could to make life easier for the people around him. His example continues to shape my path and my purpose.
